Senior Systems Integration Technician

You will be responsible for the installation and completion of projects related to Intelligent Automation Systems for residential and commercial buildings, in addition to supervising the junior technicians on the job sites.

 

Job Tasks & Responsibilities: 

  • Project Management

    • Collaborate with management and client stakeholders to understand project needs, objectives, and challenges.

    • Assist in defining project scope, budget, and timelines for client proposals

    • Evaluate work orders, plans, and installation manuals to determine equipment, materials, and effort required.

  • Installation & Troubleshooting 

    • Install system cabling and equipment, including drilling and mounting.

    • Support system testing and user acceptance testing.

    • Identify and report defects or installation issues, working with respective internal and client teams to resolve.

    • Perform system diagnostics and troubleshooting activities.

  • System Design & Documentation

    • Collaborate with management to design technical solutions that align with business requirements.

    • Create clear and comprehensive design documentation, including but not limited to data flow diagrams and system interface specifications.

  • Customer Service & Commercial Awareness

    • Consult with clients to assess needs and gather key information.

    • Assist with system demonstration as needed.

    • Maintain sound working knowledge of new products and industry developments.

    • Contribute towards process improvements and automation within the organization.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience: 

  • Electronic Certification or a minimum of 5 years’ experience in electronic systems installation. 

  • Prior experience supervising junior technicians. 

  • Ability to develop system solutions based on client requirements, understanding industry best practices and emerging technologies.

  • Demonstrated ability to visualize the sequence of work and convert into a measurable plan/schedule and proficiency with the hand/power tools used to complete physical installations.

  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. 

  • Effective organizational skills with excellent attention to detail and a proven ability to work under pressure, assess multiple demands and manage priorities. 

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills. 

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and safe driving record. 

  • Exposure and understanding of our commercial and residential product lines will be an asset. Crestron, Biamp, Logitech, Polycom, SONOS

  • The successful candidates must be able to work flexible hours to meet customer requirements. Overtime may also be required.

  • Physical Requirements & Working Conditions 

    • Dexterity of hands and fingers. 

    • Bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching and standing for extended periods of time. 

    • Heavy lifting and carrying materials, as well as, using ladders and working in cramped spaces.
